Terms of Use
Last updated November 4, 2026
By creating an account or using Passport, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
Who can use Passport
You must be at least 18 to use Passport, and you're responsible for your account.
- Give accurate information, including your age. One account per person.
- Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- You may delete your account at any time in My profile → Delete account.
Your content and behavior
You own what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you choose, and you agree not to post harmful content.
- Your content means your profile, profile photo, trips, photos, captions and tags. You give Passport a limited, non-exclusive license to host and display it to your audience, only to run the app. The license ends when you delete the content or your account.
- Don't post or do anything that: harasses, threatens or bullies anyone; is sexual, hateful or violent; involves anyone under 18; shares someone else's private information or photos without permission; impersonates someone; is illegal; or spams or tries to break the app.
- Only tag people who were there and who are your friends. Anyone you tag can remove the tag.
- Reporting and blocking: you can report a photo post and block someone at any time. We aim to review reports within 24–48 hours.
- Our actions: we may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you when we do unless that would be unsafe.
Plans, safety and meeting up
Passport shows plans people enter, not where anyone actually is.
- Overlaps and "semester base" assumptions are estimates from those plans and may be out of date or wrong.
- You're responsible for your own travel decisions and for any meetups you arrange. Use the same judgment you would anywhere else.
- Only share plans with people you trust, and use "Only me", hiding or blocking whenever you want to limit who sees them.
The service, liability and legal terms
Passport is a free, early-stage app provided as is, and our responsibility is limited as far as the law allows.
- Test version: features may change, break or be removed, and we may reset test data during the beta. We'll try to warn you first.
- No warranty: Passport is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free.
- Limit of liability: to the extent the law allows, Passport and the people who run it aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from meetups, travel or other people's content. Our total liability is limited to US$50. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
- Ending your account: you can leave at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
- Changes: if we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before the change applies. Continuing to use Passport after that means you accept them.
- Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, except where your local law requires otherwise.
- Apple: these terms are between you and Passport, not Apple. Apple has no duty to support or maintain the app.
